CfFaust got the chance to meet Dr. Izuchukwu Ernest Nwankwo who teaches drama and theatre studies in Nigeria (Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University) and who is recently a Humboldt Fellow at University of Mainz. He investigates stand-up comedy in Nigeria, explains the importance of Nollywood and discusses the phenomenon of laughter as a locker room talk – a shared expierence between the performer and the audience, that is not meant to be for an outside audience, like the stage of social media. Talking about African stand-up comedy certainly brings Trevor Noah in the foreground! Daywalker!!!!! #standupunimz
